First Week of July Update

We returned from the beach last weekend and enjoyed our 4th of July Holiday. We didn't do too much except watch the mini-series "John Adams". We've come to believe the best way to celebrate a holiday is to sleep late, relax throughhout the day and go to bed early. That is our (actually mine) idea of a perfect day. Joe had a doctors appointment and Chemo treatment on Tuesday morning. He had a good report from the doctor (although he managed to loose 4 lbs on vacation) and although the Chemo infusion took longer than usual, he got through it fine and has had a very good week. His family visited on Thursday and today he had several piano lessons.

Next Monday morning he has his first follow up appointment with his surgeon. This would normally have been when he would have had a CT scan to learn the status of the tumor but since he had one 3 weeks ago, it is doubtful they will order up another one so soon. This also will be the first time Dr. Tyler will be seeing Joe's hernia. I am anxious to hear what he has to say about that. Until then we plan to have a great weekend. Tomorrow, my plan is to treat Saturday as a holiday ***See paragraph above with regard to my idea of a good holiday***.
Joe keeps mentioning going to a movie or movies which is not part of my plan so we shall have to wait and see who gets their way.

As always, thanks go out to everyone for their prayers and good wishes. We are grateful to each and every one of you.
