This week has been a bit of a long week. Joe has been experiencing more pain this week that in the past. He seems to think the pain, which comes on very quickly and normally does not last very long, is related to what he has eaten, but then self-diagnosis has proven not to be his best attribute since this all began. He has also been more tired than in weeks past, although that was expected as the chemo builds in his system. As in weeks past, Wednesdays and Thursdays were the worst ones for being tired. Therefore since his chemo treatment at Duke will be on Tuesday next week due to the Memorial Day holiday, it will probably push his bad days to Thursday & Friday next week. What a perfect time for choir practice next week to be full of choir members. I'm not going to mention specific numbers since that back-fired big time 2 weeks ago. (thank you to the quartet that showed up that week)...but I digress. Tuesday however, could prove to be a long day at Duke as they try to get all the Monday & Tuesday regular appointments both in Oncology and the Chemo treatment clinic all done in one day. Glad our appointments are very early in the day. Maybe before dark we will be done.
Yesterday was a very, very wet day here in Durham and Chapel Hill. Lunch time was in half darkness as the restaurant that Joe and I went to for my lunch lost power half way through. At one point, we couldn't even see the cars in the parking lot as it was raining so hard. Can't complain about needing rain to water our lawn today. Glad it got mowed earlier in the week. I'm sure it will be days before the backyard dries out enough to even walk around back there.
Tomorrow after church we will be going to Greenville for a Memorial Day cookout at Joe's sisters house and then back home afterward. Today however, we are arguing over who should have taken Joe's new tube of toothpaste upstairs back the first of the week. He insists I should have brought it up to him after his shower and I say since he had gone up 20 minutes earlier, he should have just taken it himself. It was just sitting in a bag on the kitchen table. He got his toothpaste upstairs that day, but because I didn't "jump" when he yelled down for me to bring it up, he has repeatedly brought it up over and over and over all weekend. He is also complaining about the amount of laundry that has to be done, even though 90% of it is his clothes. Can you tell we are having a delightful Saturday????...and it's not even noon yet. But back to his health. He feels good today although he is having some stomach issues, but that shouldn't interfere with us getting out of the house a little bit. We have to go pick up our new suits, have lunch and maybe if we are lucky, go see a movie or stop by the Apple store at Southpoint. (The Apple store would be my choice----I hear a new Ipad2 calling)
P.S.: The sound of that Ipad2 is growing more and more faint.
